Simple Ways To Take Care Of Razor Bumps

While shaving is an affordable and quick way to remove unwanted hair, it can have a major drawback: razor burn. A razor burn can be defined as a skin irritation that happens soon after an area has been shaved. It causes a burning sensation and can appear as a red rash. At times, it can be itchy and swollen, too.
Razor burn is commonly associated with men who shave their faces frequently. Women can also have razor burn after shaving their legs and armpits. There are several causes of razor burn, such as using a dull blade, using a hard soap, shaving dry, unconditioned skin and just having sensitive skin.
Razor burn can cause a lot of discomfort. Fortunately, you can get rid of it quickly using these natural home treatments.
Apple Cider Vinegar: Apple cider vinegar is another great cure for razor burns. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Pour some apple cider vinegar into a cup, get some cotton balls and dip it inside. Apply this to the affected area. Allow it to dry and rinse off with cold water. Do this as often as you need to.
Honey: Honey may be sweet but it’s a great anti-inflammatory properties. You can treat razor burns by applying honey to the affected area and leaving it on to dry. Rinse off with cold water.
Aspirin: Aspirin mixed in a teaspoon of water to form a paste, if applied twice a day on the affected area, is sure to help. Be sure to leave it on for ten minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water.
Lemon juice: Lemon juice, owing to its acidic properties, is sure to help with razor bumps by keeping bacteria away. Rub it onto the sore areas to keep all problems at bay. Use it with caution, however, because it will react with the painful part of your skin, and sting a bit.
Tea: Only use black tea for this, though. Moisten a black tea bag in warm water, and allow it to cool. Rub this over the razor bumps for a couple of minutes or so. The tannic acid will help reduce redness and irritation. As with nearly all other remedies on this list, you can do this as many times a day as you feel necessary, till you see those itchy hair bumps subside.
Tea tree oil: Clearly, tree is great not only for drinking, but also really helps with those bumps! Tea tree oil, being an anti-bacterial agent, will help you deal with razor bumps on legs with ease. Make sure that you dilute it with a little water before using it directly, however.
Baking soda: Baking soda contains anti-inflammatory properties which will keep any burning sensation and itchiness at bay.Cucumber: Cucumber is soothing, contains anti-inflammatory properties, and is full of vitamins. Refrigerate a few slices, and apply to get rid of razor bumps on vaginal area.Olive oil: Olive oil has anti-inflammatory properties as well. Mix with tea tree oil, leave it on for a while, and rinse off to cure hair and shaver bumps.
