At least 10 people were killed and 20 more injured in a shooting at a community college in south-western Oregon today. The shooter - male - went into multiple class rooms at Umpqua Community College and opened fire, killing students.
Police first received a call about an active shooter in a classroom in the college just after 10:30 a.m. local time. They arrived and exchanged gunfire with the shooter and later said he'd been 'neutralized. While some sources are saying the shooter is currently in custody.
The suspect is said to be in his late 20s and yesterday, he was online talking to others about what he was going to do. Investigators are currently looking at his social media posting. He was familiar with the building according to law enforcement and knew where he was going.
Umpqua is a two-year school with roughly 3,300 full-time students and 16,000 part-time students
